Dana Vespoli

I’m Dana Vespoli, an American adult film actress, director, and writer, born on September 22, 1972, in Portland, Oregon. I graduated from Mills College with a degree in comparative literature and was co-captain of the varsity rowing team, which inspired my stage name. I entered the adult industry relatively late, first working as a dancer under the name «Christa» before making my debut as a performer at age 31 in 2003.

Soon after, I transitioned into directing and quickly became known for exploring dark narratives, strong character development, and a distinctive artistic style—especially in lesbian and trans films. My work’s often recognized for pushing boundaries and winning numerous industry awards, including the AVN Hall of Fame induction, XBIZ Director of the Year, and several accolades for my trans and lesbian releases.

With more than 400 acting credits and over 200 directorial works, I’m proud of my reputation for quality, integrity, and vision in adult cinema. Outside of filmmaking, I’m a passionate advocate for sex education reform, intellectual engagement, and breaking stigmas surrounding sexuality.
